Mortars
Schut’s stocks many different types of mortar to suit your project requirements. We stock standard Type S and Type N mortars, pre-mixed “just add water” mixes, mortar colour, and specialty mortars ideal for Thin Veneer Stone, Natural Stone and high temperature applications. Type N
Moderate strength Type N is acceptable for general use such as exposed non load-bearing masonry walls, above grade plain masonry and for tuck-pointing.
Type S
Where a higher compressive strength is required, such as for parging, foundation walls and walls designed with reinforcement, a stronger more durable cement such as Type S Masonry Cement is recommended.
Federal White Masonry Cement
Federal White Masonry Cement may be used for any masonry application where a white or a very light colored masonry joint is desired.
Federal White Portland Cement
Federal White Cement can be used for all types of architectural or structural concrete construction where a whiter or brighter color may be needed for aesthetic or safety reasons.
Stone (Concrete) Mix
A perfectly proportioned blend of high quality Portland cement, clean concrete sand, and dry, crushed aggregate. Use where the thickness of finished concrete will be in excess of 2 inches.
Pre-Mix "Just Add Water" Type S
A perfectly proportioned blend of high quality type 'S' masonry cement clean and sharp brick sand. Use as a masonry binder for brick, block and stone and as a parging mix.
Portland
Portland is a general-purpose cement suitable for all uses where the special properties of other types are not required.
Portland Lime Cement - Type N
Its higher cement content is suited to natural stone, manufactured stone and any low absorptive masonry unit applications. Lime adds to the workability and lightens the mortar colour, making Portland Lime ideal for matching older buildings originally constructed with a Portland and Lime mortar.
Stone Hold Mix
Ideal for thin veneer stone installation. It can be used as a bond coat, scratch and brown coat and as a mortar joint grout over concrete and masonry surfaces or galvanized, expanded metal lath.
Fire Cement
Stove and furnace refectory cement is able to withstand high temperatures and can be used in combination with fire brick. This product is a wet, air-setting, thin coat cement that is ideal for patching and repairing broken joints in fireplaces, stoves and furnaces.

Sure Klean 600
Sure Klean® 600 is a general purpose, concentrated acidic cleaner for brick, tile and concrete surfaces. Dissolves mortar smears and construction dirt quickly, leaving the masonry clean and uniform with no acid burning or streaking.
Sure Klean Vana Trol
Sure Klean® Vana Trol® is a concentrated acidic cleaner for sensitive brick and stone applications. Vana Trol® is designed to simplify rinsing and reduces potential for efflorescence.
